K-12 and Higher Education
Virtuoso Education Consulting supports organizations with program evaluation focused on desired outcomes by working with each client to develop a comprehensive evaluation plan that meets their individual needs. Focusing on 3 essential steps, referred to as the C.A.P. process, the Virtuoso team supports organizations to design the most appropriate evaluation methods to address the organizations overall goals, collect and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data related to the topic of focus, and disseminating findings in a useful and meaningful way to guide an organizations decisions about next steps.
Systems thinking provides a perspective that emphasizes the patterns of interrelationships between parts and the whole rather than the parts in isolation . This is essential in the K-12 environment as there are countless dynamic factors within the system. To ensure comprehensive evaluations, we employ the following principles as we collaborate with our education partners.
Effective school evaluations must include multiple stakeholders such as students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community members with diverse backgrounds and viewpoints. Insights gains from these multiple perspectives provides qualitative data that is essential to the analysis phase of evaluation.
Although our framework remains consistently grounded in best practice, we understand that no two school systems are identical. To that end, we ensure that our evaluation approaches are flexible enough to allow the process to meet the individualized needs of schools within a district and the needs of the students and families they serve.
Focus on the learner
We believe effective K-12 evaluations must be focused primarily on the learners. Our evaluation centers on the goal of ensuing that the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of all students are adequately meet. To accomplish this, we focus on understanding deeply the people, policies, practices, and procedures within the system.
Teaching and learning are complex tasks that can only be demonstrated by a diversity of evidence. An effective system uses multiple data sources, including qualitative and quantitative data, with particular attention to professional standards for data collection, use, and reporting.
